21,813. The total number of home visits made in was 888,178.

2. Agency Profiles:
There were twelve Medicare-certified home health
agencies in Vermont in 2004. All twelve were independent, not-for-profit
voluntary agencies. Four agencies (Chittenden, Alliance, Rutland, and
Bennington) had legal affiliations with their local hospitals. Two of
the four were subsidiary corporations of the parent corporation.
Caledonia is legally affiliated with the Northern Counties Health Care.
Two agencies were accredited by the
Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) and ten by the Joint
Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. (One
agencies have since switched from JCAHO to CHAP).
