There were eleven Medicare-certified home health
agencies in Vermont in 2008. Ten of 11 were independent, not-for-profit
voluntary agencies. One agency was part of a hospital system. Four
agencies (Chittenden, Alliance, Rutland, and Bennington) had legal
affiliations with their local hospitals. Two of the four were subsidiary
corporations of the parent corporation. Caledonia is legally affiliated
with the Northern Counties Health Care.
All eleven agencies were Medicaid/Medicare certified.
All eleven provided service 7 days a week, 24-hours a day.
